چکیده مقاله:

Batch sorption experiments were carried out to remove a cationic dye, methylene blue (MB), from its aqueous solutions using a mesoporous silica SBA-3 as an adsorbent. Experiments were carried out as function of contact time, initia concentration[Formula] and temerature (303, 313 and 323K).Adsorption process was attained to the equilibrium within 1 hour. The adsorbed amount MB dye on mesoporous silica SBA-3 slightly changed with increasing pH, and temperature, indicating an endothermic process. Adsorption isotherms were modeled with the Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin isotherms. The data fitted well with theLangmuir isotherm. The kinetic data were analyzed using pseudofirst-order and pseudo-second-order models. The adsorption kinetics of MB on mesoporous SBA-3 depicted well with pseudo-second order kinetic model.
