چکیده مقاله:

Introduction & Aim: Breast is one of the main radiological sensitive organs, hence it is important to evaluate absorbed dose to this organ especially to the glandular parts. The overall objective of this study was to investigate mean glandular dose (MGD) in mammography. Methods: The population under study comprised of 80 patient. Entrance skin exposure was measured by dosimetry. Mean glandular dose was calculated by using conversion factors and entrance skin exposure. The suitability of American College of Radiology’s (ACR) recommendations regarding mean glandular dose for kermanshah women was also checked.Results: The mean age was 49.4 years. The range of breast thickness was 3.2 to 5.4 cm. the mean compressed breast thickness was 4.6 cm. mean compression force was 9.9 dN. the mean values of average glandular dose were 2 mGy Conclusions: The result of study indicates that mean glandular doses of Kermanshah women are lower than recommended by the American College of Radiology that assurance the radiation protection principle of patients
