Evaluation of Mothers willingnessabout Preventive Measures in Breast Cancer in 2017

Background and Aim:Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide and is the most important causes of women’ mortality.The aim of this study was to determine the mothers willingnessaboutpreventive measures for breast cancer.Materials and Methods:The present study is a descriptive-cross sectional study in 2017.In this study, 25 mothers with school children were selected by random sampling method.The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire based on credible studies containing questions about the knowledge of individuals about the risk factors for breast cancer and the methods of breast cancer screening and practice of women in breast self-examination.SPSS16 software and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data.Results:The results indicate that only 8.3% knew that the best way to diagnose breast cancer is mammography, and 26.1% knew that most common symptom of breast cancer is breast mass.Awareness of the intervals of breast examination by the physician in women over 30 years of age was reported only in 29.2% positive.91.7% of mothers were aware of the frequency of breast self-examination and 95/8% its method.94.4% of women participating in this study were willing to participate in activities and programs to increase community awareness about the disease, which preferred 66.7% of transfer of information to other people on other methods.Conclusion: Regarding the low level of the Mothers knowledge about breast cancer, the development of interventional programs to improve the awareness and practice of women is essential.
