چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Breast cancer in among the most common and important diseases in women;therefore the aim of this research was to investigate the frequency distribution of socio-personal characteristics in women under treatment for breast cancer. Method: This descriptive-cross-sectional research was conducted in the year 2016 on all women under treatment for breast cancer referring to Ghazi,Alzahra, International,and Shams hospitals in Tabriz city. The research sample was consisted of166 women under treatment for breast cancer who were selected according to accessibility method.Data collecting tools were socio-personal and quality of life questionnaires (QLQ). Results: Mean of the age of the contributors was 50.0(11.4) years.The maximum and minimum percentages of patients were in above 51 years and 40 and lower years age groups, respectively.The highest percentage of the education of patients and their spouses were elementary-junior high school and high school-diploma, respectively.Most of the patients were in stage II of the disease and more than three forth of patients were married Discussion: According to the obtained results,it seemed that educating and supporting patients regarding their awareness of their own disease from caregivers to help patients under treatment for breast cancer was essential.
