چکیده مقاله:
In the old days, gardens reflected the identity and culture of each country. Persian gardens in urban planning and architecture held a high position and were a kind of paradise in the Iranian opinion. But nowadays, these gardens have been replaced with parks and urban open spaces. On the other hand, the industrial development of cities and increasing air pollution in urban environments has caused problems. The purpose of this study is the identification and reproduction of Persian gardens patterns and its adaptation with sustainability features in green spaces in contemporary cities, and developing meaningful green spaces instead of designing aimless spaces in the urban environment. The research method in this article is analytical and descriptive. Studying and collecting information about Iranian gardens patterns is referring to library documents, articles and analysis case studies. The results show that Iranian gardens were the main factors and the link between man and nature. But in the last century, as we realize this relationship was in trouble, it has a significant impact in decreasing the undesirable effects of urban and noise pollution, etc. Nowadays, the modern pattern of Iranian gardens helps to maintain not only the Iranian identity in urban green spaces for future generations, but also, using sustainable principles can play an important role in the continued development and quality of spaces of a city.
