چکیده مقاله:

This paper describes nonlinear finite element analysis of concrete columns upgraded by an innovative scheme such as the fiber-reinforced olymer (FRP) wrapping technique, which is used as a confinement. Behaviors of axially loaded unconfined and FRP-confined concrete columns were investigated and compared. Proposed finite element models were validated through experimental studies on similar columns reported in iterature. Numerical analysis results for small-scale columns showed that confinement increased the ductility and strength of the concrete columns loaded axially.
