Antioxidant activity guided fractionation of phenolic compounds in Corchorus olitorius using preparative HPLC

Phenolic compounds of Corchorus olitorius, a plant with traditional medical and nutritional applications, were fractionated using preparative HPLC method. Ethyl acetate extract of the plant leaf was obtained using soxhlet extractor and the extract was cleaned up by portioning in n-hexane and water prior to injection to preparative HPLC apparatus. Eleven fractions (15 to 80 mg each) with antioxidant potentials were obtained
