چکیده مقاله:

In the present study, the CuxO-TiO2 nanostructures on Cu powders were synthesized by the hydrolyzation process followed by a calcination treatment. The samples were characterized through some techniques and the gas-phase 2-propanol photo-oxidation was employed for photocatalytic performance of CuxO-TiO2 composites under UV and sunlight type illumination by evaluating the reaction rate. The results showed that the composite formed successfully in desirable structure and morphology. In this composite, the copper oxides act as the main visible light absorber and TiO2 nanoparticles are as decorated component to generate the heterojunction structure and provide enhanced photocatalytic performance compared to the TiO2 sample. The reaction rate of the most active composite sample is almost 7 times larger than the TiO2 references.
