Investigating the Effective Factors on Migration of Villagers to City (with an Emphasis on Cultural, Economic and Social Factors) Case Study: central rural districts of Nir County, Ardabil, Iran

Without a doubt, one of the main reasons for the failure to achieve the objectives of rural development is migration of villagers to cities. With regard to the fact that the issue of villagers' immigration from their own residence is one of the issues that in recent years has developed with an unprecedented speed and has created a lot of problems in the realm of agricultural productions. This study sought to examine the factors affecting the migration of villagers to cities. The statistical population of this research included villages of Nir. In order to operationalize the research hypotheses and aims, 150 villagers were randomly selected as the statistical sample and filled an 18-items questionnaire which investigated the effective factors on villagers' immigration. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS software. The results showed that not only the economic factors were influential on immigration, but also cultural and social factors have been effective on their immigration. By investigating the research hypotheses it became clear that factor such as job, income and hardness of work have been effective in rural residents' immigration
