چکیده مقاله:
I4/it"eless Mesh Network (W^[N) has become a popular area in vireless netu, ork research in recent years especially for its practical nature and promising solutions thal it could prottide for many wireless ad-hoc network issues. WMN consists of fixed backbone of routers connecting clusters of A[obile Nodes (MN) on the access side Many routing ideas have been proposed in WMNs Most of those proposals work based on
previously established protocols such as OSPF, AODV, DSI| and others. Hotpever, they all fall short in one way or the other, due to the nature of wireless links and consh'aints introduced by mobility in Mobile Ad-hoc Nehuorks (lt4ANET). To alleviate some of these short falls, we could include sonte link quality information in the routing decision of OSPF or AODV. Several metrics such as Extended Transntission Rale (ETX) and Weighted Cumulatite Extended Transntission Time (WCETT) have been proposed to carry link quality information in the routing protocols lVe propose nnking the MN o.ware of link quality measures such as lhroughput or end-to-end delay, and incorporate such meh"ics in the decision making process of MN. We incorporated throughput ntetric in the core of AODV, and shou, by simulation that throughput-enabled AODV petforms better than regttlar AODV. I{e also propose solutions that could incorporate other metrics such as delay, ETX and WCETT into the core of AODV.
