Extracting the Behavioral Elements of Service-oriented Architectural Style Modeled by Graph Transformation System

So far various architectural styles have been presented each of which being suitable for particular systems. One of the most popular and well-known of these architectural styles is the service-oriented architectural style. The popularity of the aforementioned style is due to its high level of abstraction which is the best solution to dominate today’s complex and diverse systems. Moreover, there are numerous languages for the description of the software architecture, one of them being the graph transformation system. The graph transformation system, which is a formal language, is unambiguous and dynamic for the architecture description. However, due to the complexity and the mathematical bases involved, it is less utilized. The graph transformation system is capable of describing the structure and the behavior of the system. All the communication mechanisms of the system can be labeled the behavior of the system. In this paper, the behavioral elements of the service-oriented architectural style, which have been modeled by a graph transformation system, will be extracted. The proposed method has been applied on the case study of the Electronic Travel Agency.
