چکیده مقاله:

The development of a green treatment process for typical indoor pollutants such as isopropanol is greatly desirable. The present work deals with photochemical properties of nanostructure spinel chromite materials in the form of XCr2O4 (X = Fe, Cu or Zn). These materials were prepared by nitrate way in order to produce homogeneous powder with large active surface. The present work deals with the photochemical removal of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) over spinel chromite materials. Each XCr2O4 compound were investigated for the photocatalytic decomposition of isopropanol, a major indoor contaminant in indoor air. Physico-chemical properties were characterized by XRD, FTIR, and SEM. The photocatalytic activities of these oxides was evaluated in elimination of isopropanol in a laboratory scale setup. Photocatalytic activity of the catalysts ZnCr2O4 and CuCr2O4 decreased and after 3 hours almost became completely deactive. In the another case, FeCr2O4 performs an exeedingly good photocatalytic activity with no deactivation. The first time, This study indicates that spinel chromite materials can perform good photocatalytic activity for removing indoor VOCs.
