چکیده مقاله:
Core−shell adsorbents are a novel class of materials where a solid inert material and a selective thin layer are housed in a single particle. In this work, we have conducted the mathematical modeling of micrometer -sized core−shell particles containing an inert ceramic core and a thin perm-selective zeotype shell for its application as a core-shell adsorbent for selective separation of CO2 from methane in natural gas. The dynamic adsorption of the gas mixture was modeled and studied comparatively in the packed bed of zeotype core-shell particles and pure zeotype particles, respectively. It was observed that core-shell adsorbent influenced the both shape of mass transfer zone and breakthrough time because of decreasing the intraparticle resistance. Conclusively, core-shell adsorbents decrease the useless length of the adsorbent bed and decreases the regeneration duration, therefore improves the productivity and bed performance, especially for the systems where the intraparticle diffusion resistance is important.
