A New Stabilizer Control for the Ball-Beam Mechanical System

In this article, an approach is given to design stabilizer control for the ball-beam system which is a practical nonlinear mechanical system. First, according to the ballbeam system, a special infinite horizon optimal control problem is proposed to design stabilizer control. Then theLegendre spectral collocation method is utilized to discretize the optimal control problem. Having solved the last discrete problem, a stabilizer control can be obtained. Numerical simulation illustrates the capability and efficiency of the presented approach.
