Improve performance of the temporary immersion system (TIS) in plant micropropagation

In this research proliferation of the Bougainvillea shoots were studied using a temporary immersion system (TIS) with special culture chamber. The nodal segments (with 2.5 cm longinclude a bud) were cultured after surface sterilization into culture chamber on small glass bids (as artificial soil). After statistically comparison among shoots grown in this culture chamber with shoots grown in conventional sealed glass jars and glass jars with filter (0.22micron), it was observed that shoots grown in culture chamber have highest length, leaf number , fresh and dry weight. The lowest shoot length, leaf number, fresh and dry weight was belong to conventional sealed glass jars.
