Investigating the effect of human capital on value-added of Iran’s provincial industries

In this study, the effect of human capital on value-added of Iran’s Provincial Industries is investigated over the 1995-2010 period. For this purpose, a Cobb-Douglas model has been used in which production is a function of labor force (non-educated workforce), capital stock and human capital. We estimate this model by applying panel data approach. Since, human capital is considered as a qualitative variable, so educated workforce is considered as a human capital variable. The results indicate that capital stock per-capita, and human capital (educated workforces) has a significant positive effect on value-added per-capita of Iran’s Provincial Industries.
