چکیده مقاله:

Nanostructure palladium composite membrane was prepared by electroless plating (ELP) method on the outersurface of tubular porous α-Al2O3 support. Surface morphology of the resulting layers was investigated by scanningelectron microscope (SEM) to characterize the as-prepared composite membrane. The results showed that the γ-Al2O3intermediate layer is nanostructure and the selective Pd layer is uniform. Subsequently, the prepared Pd membrane wasused for hydrogen permeation experiments under 0.04-0.14 MPa. The permeation results showed an increase in H2 fluxby increasing temperature. Additionally, H2 separation from binary gas mixture of H2-CO2 was investigated at 723 K.During the process, methane was found to be formed in the permeated gas, which can be due to the decomposition ofCO2 to C and O on the membrane surface and C diffusion across the membrane and reaction with the product H2 to formCH4. Finally it can be claimed that the prepared palladium membrane can purify hydrogen with high performance.
