Factors Affecting Timely Search and Rescue Service Management in Iranian Red Crescent Society

This study aimed to investigate the factors affecting timely search and rescue servicemanagement in Iranian Red Crescent Society. This was descriptive-survey research. Thepopulation consisted of all search and rescue paramedics in Tehran's Red Crescent Society(N=1855). Using stratified random sampling method, the sample consisted of 319participants. The data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire. The findingsshowed that the mean scores of paramedics’ expertise, timely notification, ready andalternative cadre, educational facilities, support of organization and managers, knowledge ofmanagers, and collaboration and cooperation of other ministries impact on timely search andrescue service provision were 28.54, 28.52, 26.86, 27.99, 27.65, 28.09, and 26.72,respectively. The significance level of all factors indicated that the difference betweenobserved ratio and expected ratio at both sides of cut point is significant at level P≤0.01.According to participants, therefore, these factors impacted on timely service provision in RedCrescent society.
