چکیده مقاله:

The number of FOS especially FPSOs, because of their attractive role in deep water offshore oil reservoirs during the last 20 years has been increased rapidly and it is expected until the nd of this decade this trend will continue and more than 120 FPSOs will be added to the existing population of FPSOs around the world [2].In this regard, In the Persian Gulf, following the opening up of offshore fields for rehabilitation, under the Petroleum Ministry's "buyback" terms, some needs for FOS will be expected for use in the non-marginal fields [1]. As a FOS must be stable in different sea states during its life time, extreme hydrodynamic loads predictions could play an important role in designing of each part of FOS as well as in designing the mooring systems. A more rational approach for selecting more accurate extreme hydrodynamic loads and seakeeping analysis of FOS by considering non-co-linear waves, winds and currents, and taking into account the joint occurrence probability of those hydrodynamic events has been explained in this paper.
