چکیده مقاله:

Serious environmental and possible public health issues in the rural and regional areas caused by the common faiure of soil disposal systems used for the application of effluent from onsite domestic sewage treatment systems. Many researches investigated the performance of onsite sewage treatment systema were concluded thet a high rate of the on-site sewage systems failed due to poor maintenance, design, and operating of the sewage treatment system (loudon and Birnie 1991; Mote et al. 1990). The research was conducted within the logan City Council regional area. The city logan is located in the south eastem comer of Queensland, Australia, About 50% of Logan City is unsewered with subsurface effluent absorption system being the most common type of on-site sewage treatment adopted. Goonetilleke et al. (1999), in a project evaluating on-site sewage system performance in Logan City, Discovered that approximately 50% of the onsite sewage treatment systems had failed with respected to treatment performance.
