Dynamic mooring analysis of LPG export jetty in Kharg Island

Mooring analysis is of prime importance for the design and operation of ports. Dynamic mooring analysis provides simulation of interaction of vessels و mooring lines and breasting points (fenders) in a real state.Oscillatory behavior of incident waves and wind loads on vessels and then on mooring points can besolely considered by dynamic analysis. This paper describes the analysis of dynamic behavior of mooring system of an LPG jetty (under construction) in Kharg Island in Persian Gulf for three sizes of vessels. Thedynamic behavior of vessels is studied by simulation of vessels and mooring lines with MOSES software.The analysis is made in order to investigate safe conditions for mooring. The downtime of vessels would be one of major outcomes of the study. The parametric study and discussion on various parameters which affect the results of the dynamic simulation and consequently deciding on optimum arrangement of mooring system is of advantage of this study
