FREE SURFACE MODELLING WITH REFINED GRID TECHNIQUE IN YOUNGS METHOD

Free surface flows are the most complicated flows that are seen in the engineering applications. Offshore engineering, hydrodynamics of ships are the samples of these flows in marineengineering. In these flows, the position of boundaries is known in the first time step and should be calculated in the next time step that is done by equations and boundary conditions. In the mostcases, the interface is the boundary between water and air. The main methods to simulation offree surface flows are divided into two main categories: surface methods and volume methods.According to the volume methods advantages, these methods are preferred. The most famousmethod in this category is volume of fluid (VOF) method. In this method the arrangement offluid in domain is defined by a color function, C.
