چکیده مقاله:

High Strength Concrete (HSC) is an aesthetic and durable material for bridge and viaduct construction. One of HSC advantages is that columns will have smaller cross section hence their visual obstruction to their surrounding environment will be reduced. Horizontal Web Bar (HWB), figure 2, has a number of advantages such as improved shear capacity of RC beams. This paper discusses shear behaviour of HSC beams with HWB and recommends a Strut-and-tie model (STM) for this structural system, figure 6.
