New Urbanism and Ecological/Green Dimensions

In the recent years, new urbanism and green dimensions as a new approach in today’s urbanism emerged in order to enhance the public life of the city, taking into account, the title of community-oriented design. Nowadays, many cities suffer from the environmental pollution, traffic, energy crisis, rapid loss of farmland and etc… Therefore, this important question comes to mind that what the role of new urbanism and ecological dimensions is in our urban design and modern world. In this trend, green urbanism is considered as a conceptual model for designing the ideal city with zero-emission and zero-waste. In response to this question, this study examines data from the Masdar city of Dubai as an example of ecological city as a case study of this paper. The methodology of this paper revealed from literature review via qualitative analysis. The main goal of this research is evaluating the particular principles of designing the livable and eco-friendly city.
