چکیده مقاله:

Being aware of the ultimate strength of different materials that we work in engineering fields is important. This strength indicates the ultimate limit of stress that a material canresist. these notes show the importance of yield and failure criteria which are formulas Including stress components (in stress space) and indicate stress of the material such as a stone for failing or yielding. So the accuracy of these criteria must investigate. In thispaper, the impact of lamination angle on the accuracy of Hoek-Brown and Mohr- Coulomb criteria is estimated. This study is conducted on the case study. The difference between the results of Hoek-Brown and Mohr-Coulomb criteria with the results of triaxial test is the error of criteria. After sampling many triaxial test, graphs of lamination angle against when is equal to 2, 4 and 6 were plotted. Results shows the error of Mohr-Coulomb experimental criterion is less than of Hoek-Brown criterion for this rock. Also errors of these two experimental criteria are little for the lamination angle near to zero. Also errors are zero for lamination angle near to 14 and 42 degrees. Finally, When the lamination angle is 90 degrees, the calculated strength is the most agreement with experiment results.
