A Numerical Analysis of Natural Air Conditioning in Buildings with Dual Skin Facade in Hot Arid Climate

Implementation of natural ventilation is one of the essential considerations when designing buildings. Natural ventilation reduces the need for and the improper use of HVACs in buildings. It not only provides comfort for the residents, but also conserves electric power.Dual skin façade system can provide natural ventilation. It can also protect the building from climatic changes. It allows the residents to enjoy their open windows without being exposed to the hazards of single layer structural wall. The aim of the article below is to conduct a numerical analysis of natural air conditioning in different Dual Skin Façade systems. The evaluated buildings are located in Hot and Arid climate regions of Iran. They are to benefit from natural air conditioning in most of the year
