Considering Color Preferences of Children Aging 4-10 in Tabriz and Modeling in Educational Facilities for Children

Children make up the most sensitive and affected age group of the society and they need to experience social life in their scale. This experience is important in their most sensitive life period of their time. They need it to be involved in urban life. This requires the availability of a sincere childish space. A Space away from the bustle of the larger world, a world full of joy with beautiful colors in which children have the opportunity to express new ideas and fostering the growth of talents, and a space which provides the perfect background for the creativity of children. Educational environment should be a creative one if it wants to be a fruitful field for future generations, its buildings, and not stereotyped, stimulating environment and free the holy creative thought and expression. This space should also lead to, physical, intellectual, emotional and social being fertility. It well implies that architecture can have a significant role in achieving this phenomenon. Unfortunately, in our country, there have been few studies regarding the importance of basic activities and the use of color in children and most these types of environments are often turbulent ones in terms of form and color. This article aims to study prioritized color preference between boys and girls aged 4 to 10 in educational spaces of Tabriz. To this end, 240 children (120 girls and boys 120) collected randomly by cluster sampling nursery from different kindergartens of Tabriz and desired information was acquired using colored cards featuring tones of yellow, orange, red, blue, green , pink, purple, blue, gray and black. Obtained results are based on correspondent research and related theories.
