ROLE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES IN AZERBAIJAN ENERGY SAFETY

Power engineering has been developed on base of oil, oil-chemistry industries which are traditional energy resources having non continuous and non dynamic work regime in our country. At present Azerbaijan is one of the main counties possessing rich oil reserves among other world countries. That’s why due to the great interest of the prestigious world oil companies to this fact, more than 24 international contracts were signed with Azerbaijan Government. According to these contracts 50 million tones oil are extracted from «Azeri», «Chiraq», «Guneshli» oil wells and transported through Baku- Tbilisi -Jeyhan oil pipeline for a year. But only oil and gas sectors are not enough for energy security of the country. Because not all regions of Azerbaijan has been gasified or has no sufficient energy provision. At the same time Azerbaijan has joint more than 200 ecological conventions including Kyoto protocol, therefore some demands stand in front of the country. Among these demands renewable energies application, forest safety, industry wastes management are the most actual question today
