Goldberg and Maslach Burnout Inventory was used to assess the relationship between burnout and mental health and data was analyzed by SPSS software version 16 using x2 Tests, T-Test and correlation tests. Results: In the case of burnout, the majorities of studied factors were low in terms of depersonalization and lack of efficiency and at a high level in terms of emotional exhaustion. 15% of samples were marked in case of mental health and there was a significant relationship between burnout and mental health (P <0.005). Considering demographic variables, the relationship between burnout and gender, age, experience, and place of residence was not significant (p> 0.005). Also, there was no significant relationship between experience, gender, age, place of residence and mental health (p> 0.005). Meanwhile, marital status had a significant relationship with burnout and mental health (P <0.005).Conclusion: Due to the stressful nature of the nursing profession and the high prevalence of mental health problems with regard to the general population and staff burnout, especially in younger and less experienced nurses and given the strong correlation between the two variables of mental health and burnout, serious attention of the authorities involved in mental health is essential to prevent or solve this problem.
