چکیده مقاله:

Joining of aluminum alloys has been a great concern for years, so the efforts to obtain methods for a variety of conditions continue to discover new approaches. In this project, brazing method was used to reach the metallurgical joining for pure aluminum sheets. For this purpose, a new filler (powders of pure Al and pure Cu 2:1) used and effects of parameters such as time, static pressure (the pressure exerted by steel sheets as jigs and fixtures), compaction pressure and the amount of CuO on the joining were investigated. Two kinds of experiments -with and without usingthe flux- designed to compare the results. The results came from microstructure analysis with light microscopy and SEM (scanning electron microscopy). Microhardness test on a range including the interface of two sheets toward the bulk of the material has also been reported. Ultimately, the results indicated that optimum conditions for metallurgical joining between all the tested conditions would be achieved in 40 minutes of heating, compaction of the filler to 3.4 MPa, with using 15%wt CuO (according to the total weight of Al+Cu powders) in 650 °C and using 27.11 N.m (1.1×104 Pa) as static pressure.
