Analyzing and improvement of knowledge representation in HDPE plant of Jam Petrochemical Complex

In the highly competitive world today, managers’ contentment to the modern echnology and systems is a great and irreparable mistake. In order to maintain and to promote the competitive advantages, companies inevitably have to manage their intellectual capitals by benefiting from knowledge management systems. In Jam Petrochemical Company and HDPE plant, due to great number of systems and nature of work of the personnel who are under weekly rest, this will provide considerable assistance with sustainable production of the highest quality. Concerning the fact that from among the main bases of knowledge management systems one may point out establishment of a suitable ground for representation and documentation of knowledge and experiences of the past, in this research, the researcher has evaluated the knowledge management status at HDPE plant of Jam Petrochemical Company especially with respect to the key equipment. In fact, this research is a qualitative and descriptive study that has been conducted through interview with specialists and correspondents of the said Department and study of corresponding books and articles. Actually, the two main questions about knowledge representation at HDPE Department have been studied here in this research : Is knowledge representation status at HDPE plant of Jam Petrochemical Complex desirable ? Is documentation of experiences and knowledge of key equipment at HDPE plant of Jam Petrochemical Company desirable ? At the end, considering the weaknesses found with knowledge representation and documentations by achieving the comments given by specialists and personnel, certain approaches have been presented for improvement of existing conditions.
