چکیده مقاله:

Calcium silicate (CaSiO3, wollastonite) has been introduced in the field of biocomposites as reinforcingbioactive ceramics. Calcium silicate was synthesized with mixed morphology of nanoparticulate andnanowire using calcium nitrate and sodium silicate at 90˚C for 17 days and 25 days under refluxconditions. The precipitate was characterized by FE-SEM equipped with EDS and MAP, as well as XRD.The results showed that the increase in reaction time from 17 to 25 days led to form mixed morphologyof particulate/wire in nano-scale. The XRD pattern indicates the formation of signal phase wollastonite(CaSiO3). The findings indicate that pure calcium silicate with mixed morphology in nano-scale maybe easily synthesized under reflux condition for long reaction time.
