چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim: In outskirts women represent half of the population and due to economic problems and regional, lifestyle and dietary pattern diversities in these areas, it seems necessary to conduct nutritional assessment in women who live in outskirts of Yasuj. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, subjects were selected by clustered random sampling among the women living in margins of Yasuj. For data collection, triple-pass 24 hour dietary recall, socio-economical checklists and anthropometric measurements were used. Then, information of the dietary recalls were analyzed by nutritionist 4 software. For data analysis, descriptive statistics including means, standard deviations, cross tables were used by SPSS 23.Results: 200 women (mean±SD for age: 11.29 ± 33.32 years, BMI: 23.58 ± 3.96 kg / m2) were included. 5.5% of women were with BMI ≤ 18.5, 66.5% with BMI 18.5 to 25, 18% with BMI 25 to 29.9 and 10% with BMI ≥ 30.The mean ± SD of energy intake was 1648.3 ± 362.05 Kcal. 29.4 ± 11.4 % of energy intake was from fat, 13.3 ± 2.4 % from protein, 57.8 ± 5.7 % from carbohydrate. Inadequate intakes of vitamin A, vitamin B2, folic acid, vitamin D, iron, calcium and zinc were found in 83.5%, 46%, 98%, 96%, 84.5%, 98% and 79% of subjects, respectively. Conclusion: Although the energy intake was sufficient in women living in outskirts, some vitamin intakes were inadequate. Therefore, it seems demanding to provide facilities that are necessary for improving nutritional knowledge and nutritional status of these populations.
