چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim: The quality of nutrition provides people with their physical and mental health. Diabetes mellitus annually eliminates the useful lives of many people who can cope with the burden of diabetes by improving the quality of nutrition. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of nutritional quality on diabetes. Methods: This research has used cohort study data from Ravenser s recruitment phase. 10,000 people aged 35-65 years old entered the study. Diabetes mellitus information is obtained from a fasting blood glucose test and a list of medications and nutrition information from the FFQ questionnaire. The nutritional quality of each person was determined based on the 2015 healthy diet index. Points less than 50 are classified as HEI (poor), 51 to 80 (need nutrition correction) and more than 80 are classified as (good). Data analysis is done using Stata software version 14.Results: The mean age of subjects is 48.1 ± 8.25 with an average household size of 4.24 ± 1.43. The diabetic population is more likely to use carbohydrates and saturated oils (p <0.001). The consumption of fruits and vegetables in diabetic people is lower than other people (p <0.4). The consumption of high-fat dairy products is significantly higher in diabetic patients. The mean HEI in diabetic patients was 47 and in non-patients 57.Conclusion: The quality of nutrition is weaker in diabetic patients. The findings suggest a direct relationship between diabetes melitus and BMI, and a decrease in physical activity and cardiovascular disease, and these factors are also affected by nutritional quality.
