چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the association between the inflammatory potential of diet with the risk of depression, anxiety and stress. Methods: 166 obese and overweight adult women reported their Food consumption based on food frequency questionnaire (FFQ). Data derived from FFQ were used to account DII scores. Depression, anxiety and stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) was used to assess the level of depression, anxiety and stress. Results: The mean ± SD age of participants was 36.49± 8.38 years and their mean ± SD BMI was 31.04 ± 4.31 kg/m2. We compared depression, anxiety and stress scores in tertiles of DII and we didn’t find any significant association between DII and depression (p=0.913), anxiety (p=0.516) and stress (p=0.785).. We repeated the analyze of our data by Empirical Dietary Inflammatory Pattern Score (EDIP score) as another index for inflammation measurement Also, we didn’t see any significant relationship between EDIP and depression (p=0.82), anxiety (p=0.312) and stress (p=0.343), as well. Conclusion: In the present study, like prestigious SU.VI.MAX Cohort study with large sample size, we didn’t see any significant relationship between DII also EDIP score with depression, anxiety and stress.
