Background and Aim: Youth population is one of the most important groups that require macro and micronutrients to prevent deficiency in elderly. Improving the dietary intake among different groups and population is important for improving the health status. This study was designed to compare the macronutrients and micronutrients intake of Varastegan’s students with Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) values.Methods: This cross-sectional study involved 200 students (males and females) aged between 18 and 30 years in 2017–2018. Anthropometrics measures were performed and 168-item semi quantitative food frequency questionnaire were used to collect the dietary information. All analyses were done by SPSS 16 software.Results: According to BMI categories 65.6% of student were in normal, 14.9% in overweight and 1.9% in obesity groups. The daily mean intake of macronutrients namely carbohydrate, protein, fat and energy intake was 413.94±129.29 gr, 98.92±32.21 gr, 93.96±37.44 gr and 2817.61±846.58 kcal respectively. Food intake analysis indicated that Vit C, B, K, Calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, Selenium and Fiber were above the recommended level; Despite Vit A and E, were below the RDAs (94, 85%).Conclusion: The findings of the study indicated that macronutrients and more micronutrients intake was appropriate, but the consumption of Vit E and A are lower than the standards, that more assessment was needed.
