PREVALENCE OF OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY IN MIDDLE AGED IN EAST AZARBAIJAN PROVINCE

Background and Aim: Increasing urbanization and industrialization in most countries, along with behavioral and nutritional changes towards nutrition with high levels of fat and energy along with low levels of energy, has caused the epidemic of obesity in the world. This study was conducted to evaluate obesity in middle aged 30 to 59 years old in East Azarbaijan province in 1396.Methods: In this study, the height, weight and BMI of the middle aged 30 to 59 years old were measured and recorded in the sib portal. The criteria for overweight, body mass index of 25- 29.9 and for obesity, the body mass index was considered to be more than 30.Results: In this study, 546989 anthropometric anesthesia were conducted, of which 235,455 people were overweight and 181313 were obese and 416768 were overweight and obese. The results of this study indicate that the prevalence of overweight among people aged 30 to 59 years old is 43 percent, the prevalence of obesity is 33.15 percent, and the prevalence of overweight and obesity is 76.2 percent. The prevalence of overweight and obesity among women is 83.8% and among men, 64.5%.Conclusion: This study shows the risk of overweight and obesity in middle aged children. Learning about obesity and its complications, encouraging people to change their diets, and modifying lifestyle and physical activity can help reduce outbreaks.
