Effective Role of Infographics on Disaster Management Oriented Education and Training

In emergencies, important information shall be transferred with the maximum speed in minimum period of time. Transfer of information with a concise format through disaster management education before a disaster with a simple presentation can be easily understood and remembered. One of the means through which large amount of data by using visualization could be easily remembered by all those engaged in disaster management training and education in emergencies is Infographics.Infographics are a mean and a method for presenting information through visualization. This mean is used in conditions where simplicity and quick conveying of meaning related to data or where transferring large amount of information, news or even scientific and technical context to the addressee is necessary. Infographic has an ability to clearly explain difficult, complicated and ambiguities in relation to facts and definitions in a very simple and an obvious manner.This paper, as a starting point will focus on introducing and comparing different traditional and modern methods and means for information and data presentation. The paper will tend to concentrate on the definition of Infographics, classifications and types of Infographics (dynamic and static) and also the different usages of this mean which is called Infographics.Continuing the paper, the important and effective role and influence of Infographics on practical disaster management training and education will be discussed in detail. Next coming up will be different samples of Infographics with a special focus on educating and training different aspects and portions of disaster managements which have been produced by the authors of this paper for the first time in Iran.At the end some alternatives will be proposed for making usage of Infographics more practical in emergencies in a way that can be used in different countries as an outcome.
