upstream information system UIS in oil industry with the aim to store and retrieve all data and information produced in different upstream areas in oil industry , including geology , drilling , geophysical , petrophysical , reservoir engineering , production engineering , surface facilities and operation were created. the scope of this system consists of all data and information in oil and gas fields in the process of exploration , development , production and reservoir engineering.the first phase of this system include database information with 5000 attributes and in complementary phase with the aim of reservoir engineering studies has been increased to about 15000 attributes. considering the variety of different databases about 87 database and diversity of engineering software and tools 356software in the main processes of exploration, development , production , reservoir management , mainternance management , project management and assets and lack of integration between these information and process creating a centralized and comprehensive database that includes all data information process in the main and sub processes in the upstream oil industry , is required.
