Good Governance Effects on Success Rate in EPC Contractors; Case Study: Coastal Development Projects in IRAN

Based on a review on questionnaires based investigations, the rate of successfulness in project based organizations located or working on the coastal zones at the southern part of Caspian Sea is studied. The effect of parameters that indicate the behavior of governance effect on organizational success is reviewed. More than 120 experts regarding to the governance issues and especially related to the coastal development projects are selected. A ten point fuzzy scale is also applied to evaluate the main parameters that can define the real quality of governance in study area. It is concluded that the main parameters that can affect the success rate are the pay for performance in the organizational staff. Also the main factor which may be reduce the efficiency of the organizational personnel is to omit or delete or neglect of the on the job training. Effects of the other parameters such as governmental corporation as well as local rules about the development plans of coastal area on the success rate of the organizations are also discussed.
