Research and development is a key point in the companies to develop their new products. Different companieslook at this issue from different angles, so their success rate is also different in it. In this paper we introduce thebasic definitions and present the main points about R&D. After that we discussed about collaborative R&D thatwe have experience on it also. In the next part, we have a case study from our company in Iran with the name ofQeshm Voltage.The most important point is that Iran have the third position between the countries that produce the highestnumber of engineering graduates per year (According to the UNESCO Institute for Statistics information). Sowe have a great potential to use the power of these graduated engineering in R&D fields.According to our studies and experiences, our solution is to keep R&D departments up to date and usecollaborative R&Ds to accelerate the R&D procedures.
