چکیده مقاله:

Nailed soil walls are an accepted technology to perform the earth retaining wall in many geotechnical projects. However, the heterogeneity of soil shows that analysis of this type of retaining wall is a probabilistic rather than being deterministic. In this paper, the performance of nailed cohesive-frictional soil walls during construction is assessed. For this purpose, a computer model, coded in MATLAB, is developed for the random finite element analysis. The soil behavior is modeled by an elastic-perfectly plastic constitutive model. In this regard, cohesion and friction angle of soil considered as stochastic parameters to implement the spatial variability. Results of the proposed model are verified by PLAXIS modeling and Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) deterministically and stochastically respectively. For probabilistic analysis, the Probability Density Function (PDF) of maximum horizontal displacement and safety factor of nailed soil wall has been determined.
