چکیده مقاله:

For many IS executives, strategic information systems planning (SISP) continues to be a critical issue and remains a top concern of many organization. Also, a comprehensive review of the recent IS Planning literature reveals that selecting a proper methodology used in developing an IS plan is one of the success factors related to the success of the IS planning process. Although this individual success factor should have enjoyed much discussion, there have been only a few attempts to create a framework to compare and classify SISP methodologies to select a proper method for a specific organization with its unique conditions. The aim of this paper is to propose a framework to choose the right SISP framework when planning for information systems in organization. This Framework, Fitzgerald and Avison’s revised Framework (FRF framework), is to be used as a guide to choose a relevant SISP methodology when planning for information systems. FRF is the result of extending Fitzgerald and avisons’s framework from IS Development level which is used to compare and classify IS Development methodologies.
