چکیده مقاله:

Knowledge base theory of the firm considers multinational companies (NMCs) as societies carrying knowledge across borders. Survey has been done based on 115 returned questionnaire from 4 major telecommunication companies. Evidences found for inward knowledge transfer according to potential absorptive capacity. X(2) test result supported both tacit and explicit knowledge transfer. Binominal test supported that considerable proportion of Iranian managers learned tacit and explicit knowledge from foreign parent company and other NMC units. K-W test used to identify difference between companies knowledge transfer. Few number of sample companies limited the researched to regression analysis. For explicit knowledge transfer, regression analysis results supported that the technical and management contribution of foreign parent (or headquarter) and shared values and systems can be predictors of learning explicit knowledge by local unit from other parts of MNC. According to the results, it is suggested that management contribution of foreign parent (or headquarter) has important role in knowledge transfer to local units.
