چکیده مقاله:

In this study, experimental investigatation has been done to examnie the energy harvesting of fluid induced vibrations (FIV) by a hydro-kinetic model. The system has used an elastic diaphragm to absorb the vibrations caused by the vortex shedding behind a bluff body and transfer it to an electromagnetic converter (magnet -coil) and convert the kinetic energy of the fluid flow to electrical energy. Investigations were included, studying the effects of electrical converter circuit resistance, magnet size, bluff body location on the diaphragm and finally the hydrualic diameter of the bluff body on the effective output voltage (Vrms) at different Reynolds numbers. The Reynolds number range which was studied is from 2000 to 8000. Investigations have also been made with electrical resistances of 220 Ω and 1000 Ω, magnet thickness of 2.8 mm and 5 mm and circular cross-section cylinders with diameters of 9 to 12 mm at distances of 5 to 8 centimeters from the diaphragm edge. Experimental studies showed that the circuit with the resistance capacitance of 1000 Ω, large thick magnet, the cylinder at distance of 3 cm from the beginning of the diaphragm and with hydraulic diameter of 12 mm had the highest induced output voltage (Vrms =4.18 mV and fv=24.4 Hz).
