چکیده مقاله:

In this research, laminar flame speed and flame thickness were computed for equivalence ratios of 0.5 to 1.6 by two methods and compared with experimental results of Andrews and Bradley . in both methods detail reaction mechanisms GRI-Mech 2.11 and GRI-Mesh 3.0 were employed . the effects of the initial mixture temperature and pressure on these parameters also have been examined and data have been obtained for the methane-air mixtures at initial temperatures between 300k-700k, at pressures between 0.5bar and 30bar at equivalence ratio of 1.0. Comparison of the results showed good agreement between predictions and published data. The flame thickness was decreased both by increasing the pressure and temperature; however pressure had the most effect on the flame thickness. The preheat zone was also predicted to occupy about 60% of the thickness of the flame. The flame thickness and burning velocity expresser and temperature. Empirical equation available from the literature was used to validate the results.
