چکیده مقاله:

The main purpose of this study is multi-objective optimization design of tuned mass dampers (TMDs) and semi-active tuned mass dampers (STMDs) to control the structural vibrations excited by the earthquakes. The efficiency of Fuzzy control for seismic protection of tall buildings is investigated through comparison with semiactive and passive systems. For this purpose, a 12 story building has been simulated against the earthquake excitations. In order to reduce the effects of the earthquake, the TMD and STMD devices are separately considered on the top floor of the building. The parameters of both devices have been optimally designed using multi-objective genetic algorithm in the same situation and the fuzzy logic system is applied to determine the damping of the STMD. In this method, three non-commensurable objective functions, namely, maximum displacement, maximum velocity, and maximum acceleration of each floor are considered, which are to be minimized simultaneously. Finally, the comparison of the simulated results shows that the performance of STMD in reducing the vibrations due to strong earthquakes is much better than the TMD.
