چکیده مقاله:

In helical heat exchangers, flow and heat transfer are complicated. In the current study, numerical means was utilized to investigate the influence of loop parameters such as coil radius, curvature ratio and the diameter of tube on the characteristics of heat transfer. Modeling of the study was implemented based on principles of heat transfer, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. By imposing of boundary conditions and selection of appropriate gridding, whereby the results are independent of meshing, analysis was done with Computational Fluid Dynamics software and results were compared and validated with existing experimental results in literature. The results indicated that heat transfer augments by increasing of inner dean number, inner tube diameter and the curvature ratio of heat exchanger coil.
