One of the major features of atherosclerosis is concentration of low density lipoprotein (LDL) in the artery. In this study, a stenotic artery in which the lumen is surrounded by a one layer porous media as the wall was modeled. The Navier-Stokes equation and Darcy s law were used to describe fluid in lumen and wall of artery meanwhile mass transfer equation was employed for simulating concentration of LDL . A well-known model of Kedem-Katchalsky was used for implementing the interaction between the lumen and the artery wall. Focus of this study is on modeling of artery stenotic region. Profile of fluid flux from the lumen to the wall and concentration of LDL was plotted and discussed on a random stenosis shape for studying effect of different geometries. Moreover stenosis growth was investigated versus increase of stenosis cross section area.
