چکیده مقاله:

In this study, the effects of magneto-electric potential and temperature change on the pull-in instability of a magneto-electro-thermo-elastic micro-beam are studied based on Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Maxwell’s equation and magneto electric boundary conditions have been taken into account in order to determine the variation of magnetic and electric potentials along the thickness direction. Then, governing equations of the micro-beam are derived by using Hamilton’s principle. In static analysis, step by step linearization method(SSLM) has been applied to linearize the nonlinear governing equation. Afterward, resulted linearized equation is solved thanks to Galerkin-based residual method. On the contrary, Galerkin reduced order model has been utilized in dynamic analysis. In numericalresults, the static pull-in voltage of the micro-beam has been assessed considering thermo-magneto-electric conditions. Moreover, dynamic pull-in instability of the micro-beam has been elaborated on the details by plotting phase trajectories. Besides, the effects ofexternal electric potential, magnetic potential, and temperature change on the pull-in instability have been investigated. By and large, obtained results reveal this fact that the applied magnetics/electric potential and temperature change exert significant impacts on thepull-in phenomenon of smart micro-beams. All these considered, this property could be used as controlling mechanism in designing of smart and adaptive MEM/NEM devices which effectively improves the reliability of the system.
